Using Pool Spa Year Round

Hello,

New pool owner here (via home purchase), and had some questions about the spa.

What would be required in order to use the Swim Spa year round, even while the pool is winterized? Would you recommend using in the winter? The heater for the spa is gas, so I'm presuming it could keep up with the colder temps.

Also, where would be the best place to find covers for the swim spa? It has a spillover ledge, so cover would need to cover up that to stop heat loss.

For using the spa year round, from what I was told is that the pool and spa manually should be manually divided. That way If valve fails water won't go back in the pool lines and risk freezing from spa water.

Not totally clear what is meant to be manually divided and if my current system qualifies or needs adjustments.

As for Spa covers, I saw someone in another forum recommended BeyondNice.com. I'll check them out - anyone have others? Any idea on turnaround time for those?
