Use an Intermatic PE103 for Variable Speed pump and cleaner?

The Intermatic PE103 is designed to be used for dual speed pump timing. (http://www.intermatic.com/-/media/inriver/7101-8546.ashx/P103%20Instructions)

I have a variable speed pump which the speed is controlled on the pump, so it is wired as if a single speed pump. I also have a pair of T104 timers which are in really sorry shape. Could I use a single PE103 as a replacement and wire the pump to low and the cleaner to high? This would ensure the pump is on while the cleaner is on. I could even use the remaining aux for light control.

To wire, If you number the terminals from 1 - 10 (left to right), I would connect:
Line 1: 1,3,5
Line 2: 2,7,9
Pump1: 8
Pump2: 6
Cleaner1: 8
Cleaner2: 4
Light (120v): 10

I also have a salt cell that would be wired in parallel with the Pump1 and Pump2 connections.

The only problem I could see is that when the Controller is on low, Cleaner1 is electrified to the cleaner pump, even when the cleaner is off. Is this against best practices?

I think I found my own answer. I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) dual speed pumps connections are L1, then L2(low) OR L2(high). L2(low) and L2(high) are not energized simultaneously. Therefore, this switch wired the way I specified would only have the pump or the cleaner running at any given time. An alternative would be a P1353ME (http://www.intermatic.com/-/media/inriver/7113-8558.ashx/P1353ME%20Instruction%20Manual), but only switch one leg of the cleaner and the pump. As stated before, I'm not sure this is best practice since even when off, one load line to the pump is electrified.
