Unusually low pH

Trying to help a neighbor with his pool. Extremely low pH (bright yellow). His Stabilizer is high due to stabilized pucks (70) and I have his FCL at 6ppm now. Added pH up but little effect. Testing with my TF test kit so comfortable with the numbers. Suggestions or comments?

Pool water is cloudy. Haven't tested Alk or CH as I don't think they are the issue

Please test and report the total alkalinity.

Bring that up to 70 ppm and that should get the pH up to something readable within an hour or so.

But baking soda will not drive pH up. Do you mean Borax?

No, I mean baking soda. You need the TA to be higher to get the pH to rise.
