Hi All, our current pool light is located in such a way that when we are on the patio at night the glare is unbearable. It is just a standard white light. I need some ideas as to what is available that would have reduced glare or even colors that would be gentler. Even some sort of hood on top if there is such a thing. It would need to fit in the present light housing and preferably TFP member tested and approved.
Also, how difficult is it to replace an underwater pool light?

Give us some pics of the pool where the lights are and the patio.

You know what model lights you have? There are color lenses that can be out on some lights.

Thanks ajw22, The light is just below the rock at the end of the pool. It is a Jandy white light. I don’t know what model. I can look at the light ring and see if it’s on there. You can see how the light would be very distracting when we sit at the patio table AAD1A622-0FD4-4E6F-9F4F-9E83AB481E51.jpeg

Was your patio always in the spot it is now? If so, that was just poor judgment by the builder to place the light there as they know better. It would have been far better on the wall nearest the patio and facing the other side of the pool.

I hope you can find something to tame the glare. Keep us posted if you do, ok?

Hi Maddie, yes, the patio was there from the start and I agree with you about the poor judgement on the light location but other than that we are happy with our pool. I am going to call one of the on-line pool supply stores because Jandy/Zodiac is tricky to retrofit. I’ll need to get more details on the exact light and niche currently installed but from what I’m seeing my options are limited for a “quick and inexpensive” replacement. That seems to be the problem with Zodiac, they want you to replace it with their equipment and not a competitors brand.
