Umbrella sleeve size

Final detail. One builder told me he uses a 7.5” sleeve….current builder said they always use 6”.

Both don’t care which I choose, I just want to make sure I can put any umbrella the Mrs finds into it.

Do all umbrellas fit into the 7.5? Curious if anyone has an opinion on this.

My only thought is the extra 1.5" of umbrella height (using the 6" holder) for the ledge loungers to fit under the umbrella without any issue.
Most umbrellas have a set pole length, although I am sure you can purchase varying pole lengths. Now if the pole length is very long then that could be an issue with a shorter 6" holder, just due to bending forces.

You should put away any umbrella if a pending storm or windy conditions, so you do not need that extra 1.5" to hold it in place.

Thanks for the comments and image. I haven’t really tested an umbrella in one. I guess 6” would be sturdy enough for a day or weekend. I didn’t know if there were “tough” ledge umbrellas that required more depth.
