Type of sand to use for leveling?

Im sorry tried to search but mobile version acting funny.
What type of sand do i use and how much.
summer waves pool 14 foot circle.
42" tall. Bix says about 3000 gallons.
I assume mason sand at lowes.
But dont know the forumula for how many 50lb bags.

Ideally you would want to dig down to level then you use an inch or 2 of sand just as a soft floor. You can find material calculators for sand with a quick Google search.

I would not use sand at all. It can wash pretty easily in a big rain and simply erode over time

Unwashed pea gravel will compact nicely and resist erosion and can be leveled and smoothed like sand.

I pick up sand today. Mason sand.
Tried to post pic but picture to large.
Came in one big bag and on a pallet.
$35 for 1 ton. I think is 1 yard.
$15 for the pallet.
Supply company could not tell me weight.
I assume 1500 to 2000 lbs.
Weighed our seqouia done. I could have not put any more on my 6x10 trailer with 1 and 3/4 axles.
I was going to rent pallet jack to get off the trailer but loaded pallet sideways be very difficult to get off.
So wheel barral and shovel.
