Turn off skimmer run ONLY drain

I had a new liner installed this season. Starting to lose water and falling below the recommend water level marked on my skimmmer. I would like to turn off the skimmer and see how low the water gets. I have a feeling it may be at the skimmer. Process of elimination will tell me after a few days.

I’ve turned off the suction at the skimmer and only pulling from the bottom of the pool. Any concerns I should have?

Should not be an issue, but I'd keep an eye on things just to make sure..
