Some how got a small hole started on side of the pool near the bottom. Idk how that happened. I am very careful. only use a robot or the wall whale not sure if one of that did it? How does gorilla water tape hold up?

A pool liner patch kit is what you need. Most have gone that sets under water.

How would I fill that sink hole in? Thinking trying to dig down the outside of the pool and put sand under it.
I have 1 of those also. I ripped liner brushing pool last summer and with the water running out a sink hole like that developed. I was told that when we decide to get the liner replaced the hole would just get filled in with sand. Ours is hidden behind the ladder. So not really in the way
The gorilla tape held for a few weeks. Started leaking again. Drained the pool and found out that the support block rubbed a hole in to the liner. Got that fixed and pool patch kit on the hole. Filled hole in with sand.
