(Truck tire) inner tube OK in pool?

Or do you guys not like the idea? They will be used by being in the pool about 5-6 days per week just sitting in there doing something I am fiddling with (homemade pool cover).

Or best to keep that type of tire rubber(?) etc. out of the pool and instead use traditional vinyl (?) pool rafts or pool balls bought at the pool stores/Walmart etc.

I found that the tire tubes will break down over time. I switched to pool floats (River Rat) and use these for cover floats. Just tie them together in the middle of the pool. You can also use them to pull the cover from one side of the pool to the other at closing and opening.

I've used them before. They aren't made to take a lot of sunlight. The worst thing, though, is that the stem always manages to somehow tear into my skin, even with a valve cap.

Save them for a trip to the snow in the winter.
