I wish to add a heat pump to daily warm my 20,000-gallon pool with pool cover during the winter in San Francisco East Bay.
My roof top water solar keeps the pool warm enough April 15 - Oct 15.
Winter outdoor temperatures are typically 45F low to 60F high. I can swim daily down to 65F pool temperature.
Does anyone have a trouble-free experience with a heat pump that they have been using daily for over 5 years and love it?

However I'll agree with James that the question will become who can you get to service it. But it might be worth some phone calls to that company (and I found at least a couple of others) to see if they have a dealer in the Bay Area.
I live in SoCal and do swim in my pool year round (with 85 degree water), only shutting down the heat for the occasional winter storm (like this week). But I have a ordinary efficiency Jandy 400k BTU gas heater, on a 6500 Gallon always covered pool. Means I can re-heat the pool after a cool spell in just a few hours. And can get the Spa hot in about 15 minutes.
