How to stop this? Vac head has so much suction that the head is tough to move across the floor at times. Hose will kink at the skimmer or if the hose gets curled...due to high suction.
I have drilled about a 3/8" hole in skimmer plate but still too much suction.
No. If the main drain was plumbed to a valve you could release some of the suction that way.
How worn out is that vacuum head? If the wheels have shrunk and the body sags, that may be part of the problem. If the head is newish, then try drilling another hole in the vacuum plate.
Another thought if no other ideas pop up. Thinking maybe the hose might be weak in that one spot? We once had a hole near one end in our hose and had to cut it out and reattach the fitting.
