to SLAM or to wait?

I'll try to keep this short. We have anew liner and a recurring leak. I have had to drain my 45,000 gallon pool twice this season for them to do repairs, none of which have worked. We are having a different leak detection company come to dive the pool this Friday. Since the last refill (2 weeks ago) I didn't bother to fix the pool chemical balance, as I knew we might have to drain this darn pool for a third time for whatever they find Friday. However, my usually crystal clear pool has become super cloudy and has green looking algae. Is it ok to let it continue to get gross??? Knowing I will likely be draining the pool next week?? Or should I spend the money on stuff to SLAM It? I know I can SLAM it when the repairs are done, and at this point I just want to ensure the algae won't be damaging my pumps/SWG etc.
