Time to update my sand filter

Hi everyone! I know I’ve been scarce in the winter months. The pool has been covered and I’ve been just pumping water off periodically. My whole fear through the winter is something breaking leaking or tearing but I think I made it another season.

This will be the 4th season with this pool. I’ll start a 2025 AGP thread per usual to track my progress.

I’m getting ready to open but last year I noticed some issues with the filter so I think some replacement parts need to be ordered. Gonna check the filter tomorrow. So I can fix before I open.

The issues:

1. Backwash leaks I put a return plug to stop it
2. Tiny amounts of sand make their way into the pool no matter how much I vacuum them a few days later they are back

In 2023 I replaced the o ring gasket where the multiport valve attaches to the tank of the filter as that leaked before too. The tank seems fine.

I’m thinking a new multiport valve and lateral assembly with center pipe.

Im not sure about the center pipe but um pretty sure the valve is correct.

Any advice is welcome!
