This is my first year of using liquid chlorine. I am Urías about knowing whether or not I can test my pool when it is no longer exposed to sunlight? Or do I have to wait until sunset? My pool is totally shady by 4:30 in the afternoon and I would like to do my testing after that time if it all possible. Would appreciate your comments

You can test whenever you like. Just try to be consistent. If you test around the same time of day, you'll get a feel for how your pool behaves in each 24-hour interval.

If you want to perform an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test (OCLT) ideally you want to test after sunset and before sunrise. That removes variables.
