Hi! We’re in the middle of building a new pool for the first time and currently have NPT mini pebble in contract but after a recently staying somewhere that had a pool with the same finish, I don’t like it. It’s rough and tore up my daughter’s feet. Micro pebble is an additional $3300. We’re debating tiling the Baja bench instead as a compromise. I like the look of the ceramic penny tiles or the glass 1”x1”. Can you put in-Pool loungers on a tiled baja bench? Has anyone had trouble with them cracking or popping off? Thank you in advance!

The tiles shouldn’t pop off if installed correctly.
Pebble Fina is the smallest of the exposed aggregate plasters and even that finish can be rough if not installed correctly.
The finish you experienced was more than likely due to improper installation, water chemistry or both.
Pebble Fina will have the feel of an orange peel.

Thanks. We don’t have Pebbletec as an option. We can only use Stonescapes pebble projects. The cost jump from mini to micro is just crazy and it’s didn’t seem like it was all that much smoother when the marketer for the PB brought us to the pool that they did in micro. They were also trying to talk us out of doing micro in general. I think that’s because they’ve only ever done two other pools in micro?

I’m just concerned about cracking or damaging the glass or penny tiles on the Baja bench when we put lounge chairs on them. Also, will it be more smooth?
