What should I look for, expect after a Thunderstorm comes through?
It added about 1inch of water to the pool,
dropped in a bunch of leaves

PH up due to aeration? or PH down due to rain having a PH of 2-5?
FC loss due to leaves in pool?
CYA down due to dilution?

Cleaning up leaves. Makes no difference to pool water chemistry if it is properly managed. If your TA is high, the pH might rise, very little.

Hey Tim !! Most of TFP revolves around what happens when you aren’t paying attention to the pool. A freak storm, an incredibly hot / high UV day, or your wife invites a few other Moms over to swim with the kids all afternoon once you’re already at work and can’t adjust the FC up beforehand.

Take this one inch whopper of a storm. In your (roughly) 60 inch average depth, it’s less than 2% of your levels. If you were running the pump today anyway, (and ‘in range’) all is good. If not and you know the storm was coming but the pump wasn’t coming on until 10PM, turn it on low before work and enjoy your day without a care in the world. If the events happen without much warning and you’re already away, get the pool mixed and topped off with FC at your earliest convenience.
