The story is too long to tell, so lets start at the point I was given the task of maintianing the pool about 5 weeks ago. The sales rep from the SWG system recommended these settings: ORP1 735, feed time 900sec (15min), ORP2 680 (liquid CHL backup) feed @ 180 secs, PH @7.3. After two weeks of operation I was blasting thru 11 gals of liquid CHL. ORP1 never reached 735. Changed ORP2 to 630 @180 sec of feed time. The controller runs for 20 cycles before going into alarm, example 10 min feed with 5 min delay equals 1 cycle.
Thes are the results for the last 3 weeks:
Mon 8am controller in alarm with ORP between 640-655, I reset
Mon 4pm ORP 605-610
Tue 8am ORP 575-600
Tue sometime between 12pm and 3pm goes into alarm with ORP between 575-605, I reset
Wed 8am ORP 575-600
Wed 4pm ORP 575-600
Thur 8am ORP 575-600
Thur sometime between 10am and 12pm goes into alarm with ORP between 575-600, I reset
Fri 8am ORP 575-600
Fri 4pm ORP 575-600
Factory setting for ORP is 650 so why does the sales rep recommend 735?
In testing the water here are the numbers and they have remained constant throughout the 3 weeks,
CHL 10-12ppm
PH 7.5
ALK 60-70
CYA 30-40
Calcium Hardness ranges between 360 to 420ppm
and the salt is 4200
Why can't I get this controller to stabilize? Why does the ORP go up to 650 over the weekend?
If you add the numbers 15min feed with 5min delay = 20 mins X 20 cycles = 400 mins = 6 hr and 40 mins, then this sytem should go into alarm as it never reached 735.
Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.
