So I got a new wireless thermometer and it finds its way into the skimmer. I can't just fix it to the wall somewhere due to the electric robot. Is there any negative to keeping it in the skimmer? Deep thoughts on a Saturday evening.

As long as you have a skimmer basket in the skimmer, it should not be an issue.
How big is the unit? Does it float?
Maybe a link or a picture would help us...
+1. Why can't it live in the skimmer ? My dogs hunt my cheapo floating thermometer if it's not in the skimmer. Lol.
Hah. That's what I figured. And my dog hunts ME or whoever else is 'drowning' in the pool. I won't go in voluntarily, but she enjoys it once in. If you're in and she's not, she's hunting your Rear around the edges of the pool.
