Thanks for the help!

I just wanted to say thanks to the forum!
The house we bought last year came with a pool needing rehab. Last summer we replaced the liner, and I did okay with the jumbo tabs for the second half of the season.

This year they did me in, and I did the lower-the-water-to-lower-cya, switch to bleach & get a tf-100 in order to stop the little bits of algea.

Then we left for a five day vacation, and upon return it was all out war with a green pool bottom!

After about a week of by-the-book slamming, I finally passed the oclt & clarity test. I enjoyed my morning & nightly ritual of dpd testing chlorine, and even got my 4 year old daughter interested in helping me drip the drops and watch for the color changes. I even got to play with adding de to the sand filter!

The pool was easily eating 8 to 10ppm of cl a day for most of a week— hungry bugger!

For my next trick I’ll be balancing my new SWG & vsd pump. (Loved the excel sheet for this!) Assuming my pool doesn’t turn green when I leave for this weekend :) maybe using the tabs will help get my cya up to SWG levels.

So... no questions— the forums & pool school had enough info to guide me through, but I wanted to express my gratitude to the forum!
