The old pool was a big hit over the 4th of July celebrations. Family was in town with grandkids and we all had a blast. Thank you for your guidance and patience putting up with newbies like me with all our bad habits and baloney theories of pool maintenance. I've still got problems, but worrying about my pool isn't one of them anymore. I found TFP just over a month ago with a nasty pool I didn't believe was recoverable, but that was just 31 years of being "pool stored" and assuming I couldn't afford the chemicals that were going to be recommended. I'm still trying to find my zen regarding testing and adjustments. I have been learning a lot reading through the forum with other folks expressing similar problems, or imagined problems that I am thinking about. I especially appreciate those on the forum who seem to be so understanding of those of us who want all the answers before we even know the first legitimate question.
Shark attacks grandkids in salt-water pool

Shark attacks grandkids in salt-water pool

Things I would do different if I were starting over a month ago:
- Build a time machine and go back and re-live my pool life doing it the right way.
- Install a variable speed pump. I was always under the impression that the vs pumps were for Polaris pressure side cleaners. Now I know better.
- Use pool valves rather than ball valves. I had never been exposed to pool valves, all the pools I've seen used ball valves.
- Plan my plumbing more than 30 minutes prior to installing. Install plumbing during daylight.
