Pool chemical test results after removal and replacement of 10960 gallons of water

PH 8.2
FC 1.5
CC 1
TC 2.5
CH 390
TA 175
CYA 40

So if I interpret pool math correctly
add
108 oz of 10% bleach
75 oz of muriatic acid
175 oz of calcium chloride
any special kind of calcium chloride to use

I wouldn't be concerned about the CH level. I wish I could get mine that low. Have you considered get the SWG working or replacing it? Having had pools both with and without salt water chlorine generators, I will never again have a pool without one.

SWG seem like a great idea but the number of threads I see with SWG issues and need for replacement every few years, makes me wonder should I just stick with bleach and watch the chemicals. Does the calcium chloride amount add seem correct? Almost 11 lbs seem like a lot and I do not want to go overboard.

Salt cells are a consumable item. It is expected that it needs replacement after a few years. With a SWG that's how you are paying for your chlorine. A new cell for my system cost about $400 and lasts 6 years or so, so my chlorine cost is $400/6=$66.67 per year. No jugs to haul, just turn a dial to adjust my chlorine level. Once my water is balanced, the only thing I ever add is a little acid once a week or so to balance pH.

Agreed SWG is a consumable and as a pool owner, there are expenses. Yes, the pro-rated cost is good for the benefit. The issue I have as a novice is keeping the SWG running without multiple problems. Maybe since I have taken over the pool service, I will pay enough attention to the details to ensure the equipment and chemicals are maintained, my prior pool maintenance company did not take this care. So I am a little skeptical of the SWG.
