Good Morning,
Last year during the TX freeze I had disassembled/drained the equipment and blew out my waterfall features with a shop vac. Normally in the winter I leave the four feature returns (right side of picture) all open when freeze protect is running. There are two waterfall features and two bubblers that feed from that right side. I particularly don’t like the waterfalls running overnight, as the flow rate on freeze protect is low and it tends to freeze all along the wall of the waterfalls.
My question is could I blow out the lines like I did last year and then simply close those valves on the right side? Do the valves seal enough to keep water from filling those lines? Would I run any risk of the pipes showing in this picture freezing if I did this? I hope my question made sense- essentially I just want to blow the water out of the feature returns, block it off, and only keep the in-pool returns running.
Thanks in advance!
