Temporary repair options for Fiberglass steps?

Liner will need to be replaced in the next 3-5 years, so we will likely be replacing this at the same time, but I'm trying to buy myself some time and I'm open to options so this doesnt continue to get worse. Fiberglass steps are starting to crack in numerous locations on the sides out of the water. In the water still looks totally fine. Nothing has broken fully through yet, but I need ideas for a temporary repair. Do I take a few tubes of JB weld, slather over it and smooth out, sand it down even, and spray paint it white?

I love JB Weld and similar products, but that seems like an excessive job for even those products. Since you need more of a wide-spread application, I would consider talking to some people in the marine industry. Since they work on boats, they may have some good products or application methods to recommend.
