So I have to get a new liner, and in order for them to get measurements the pool has to be clear. Currently the water is below the pool returns and i have the filter running. I dont want to fill the pool and do a whole lot because I'm going 5o have to empty the pool anyway. I'm currently away from home and only get to visit the house about an hour every other day or so. I have fas-dpd test kit. What should I do.

18 x 36 inground pool, about 25,000 gallons, 3ft shallow, 8ft deep end, 1.5" piping, hayward s244t sand filter, 1.5 hp pump, t-15 salt cell, aqua comfort hear pump, taylor 2006c test kit

So it sounds like you're running the pump off of a main drain for suction water right? You must've just opened to a bit of a swamp and don't want to waste water just to dump it for the new liner. Well, we clear green/hazy water with the SLAM Process, but if you're not home, it will be tough to maintain the SLAM FC level. Do you have a friend or neighbor in the area that can help? If you were able to confirm the current CYA, then you could go to the FC/CYA Levels and find the proper SLAM FC level based on that CYA. Lower the pH to 7.2 first, then increase the FC level. Maintain it well that first day you are home, do as much as you can, then ask a neighbor to add some chlorine the next day or until you get back. It's not perfect, but aside from completely draining the pool, which probably isn't the best thing to do, I'm not sure you have any other alternatives.
