As the title says, my Speedstir decided to quit working at the end of last season. I took it apart but there are no mechanical parts in there to fix. Anyone have any suggestions short of buying another one?

On that note, are the Smart Stirs a better product?

There was a thread somewhere that said to try using a brand new battery. I don’t remember the details on it but something like removing the battery and replacing it fixed the issue. Might try that.

Needs to be an alkaline battery. That is when the pill is jumping vs. spinning.

It means that I am an idiot. I replaced the batteries, but one of them must have been dead. I replaced them all again and now it works.

Kind of like when I had my alarm company come to replace a motion sensor that wouldn't work only to find out I put a new dead battery from Costco in it. I hate paying for dumb service calls.
