I wanted to order the TF test kit, but since I was getting the hot tub for me and my wife for Christmas and ordered too late, the kit wouldn't have come till after Christmas. I ordered the Taylor kit on Amazon prime instead. It's a nice kit, but my reasoning didn't quite work out.

So I realized I could order the K2006 and buy extra 2 oz bottles of chlorine and pH reagents and it would still be cheaper than the K2006C, but give me more tests on the two tests I figured I'd be doing most. What I failed to realize is the (very nice) case the Taylor kits come in are sized to the bottles. So I can't fit the 2 oz bottles in the case with everything else because it's sized to fit the 0.75 oz bottles. Guess I can refill the 0.75 oz bottles from the 2 oz bottles once they run out. Best thing would have been to just get the K2006C so it fit 2.0 oz bottles, but I didn't think of that.

Anyway, just a small annoyance I didn't think of, if anyone else thinks of doing the same thing I did.

I also ran into the same annoyance. I even called Taylor to see how much just ordering the case would cost and if I remember correctly it was over 50.00 plus shipping. Kind of a good thing because I would be even more annoyed. I ended up making my own out of a plastic ammo box. It allows me to store a wash bottle, speed stir, couple of microfiber cloths and cup for waste. I even went as far to print my own instructions for the lid. Happy as a clam now. I will be home in a few weeks and can take a picture of my setup but basically I cut out a few pieces of plywood to fit inside and drilled holes for the bottles.

There are at least a couple of older threads on here that show home-made test kit boxes. Not sure if I can link to them, but you can search under "Show off your test kit" or "Let's see your test kit". This approach is helpful once your kit starts to expand, like in your case buying 2oz replacement reagents, or a Speed Stir, or test standards, or....
