Taylor K-1001 vs. K-2106

I have two Taylor test kits:

1. Taylor Basic Residential DPD Pool and Spa Water Test Kit - K-1001

2. Taylor K-2106 FAS-DPD Bromine Complete Test Kit

The K-2106 is a little more time consuming so I use it only once a week to test all water parameters (Alkalinity, pH, Bromine, Calcium).

The K-1001 only tests for pH and Bromine, but is easier and quicker to use, so I use it more often (whenever I'm about to use the spa).

A few time, I have used both at the same time expecting to get the same results. The pH between the two kits are always in agreement. However, The bromine always reads about 2ppm lower on the k-1001 kit. Both kits are new and the chemicals are nowhere near the expiration date. Any idea why the readings would be off and which kit should I trust more?

The FAS-DPD test is always going to be more accurate than a color matching test.
I have no idea why your pH results would differ ... perhaps the vials need a good cleaning?

Oh sorry, I misread.

The titration FAS-DPD test will always give a more accurate result. Often the color matching are only good to determine if you have any chlorine/bromine or not.
