tarp floating on water? is this ok?

Hi, I'm new here. I have a small 10'x6' bestway pool, about 900 gallon.
In need of a pool cover and not easy to find for this size,
I bought this tarp here
8 ft. x 10 ft. Heavy-Duty Tarp-HF0810 - The Home Depot

I thought I would be able to use bungee cord to cover it up but it has proven more difficult than I thought.
It just touches the water and floats on top.
My question is that is this going to leach anything into the water?
I could put some PVC pipes on top to try to get more of the tarp off the water.

Thanks, looking forward to talk more.

There is nothing wrong with the tarp touching the water, winter covers for above ground pools are basically just big tarps.

Keeping a cover on the smaller soft sided pools can be a challenge or so I've heard. The most coming method is tie the corners of the tarp down to something heavy on the outside of the pool like a five gallon bucket full of sand.
