Hello,
We purchased our house in central NJ back in 2018. We hired a company to close the pool shortly after we moved in that year (Late September) and for the past 3 years we had someone come do the opening, closing and a weekly service. Initially, the plan was "One year of service while we figure out what we are doing, and next year we will do it ourselves!" Well, three years at nearly $2300/year we decided to break up with our pool guy for real this season.
Based on some rough calculations involving google maps measuring, and estimating the depth of each end entirely around how far we remember the water coming up on our bodies from last summer, I ended up around 15k gallons. Its a vinyl lined pool with a hayward T-cell-15, aquarite salt controller, sand filter and a new hayward tristar vs 900 omni pump I installed last spring when our old one would not run anymore. I've purchased the tf-pro kit and am on the waitlist for a s300 from Marina.
Generally the pool has been very clear and we haven't had any issues aside from the pump needing replacement last year. I believe the previous owners put the pool in around 16-19 years ago and later converted it to swg.
I have a couple concerns that I'll post separately in their appropriate places to keep things organized.
Few pictured of the pool

Dog enjoying the shade, cat enjoying the sun.

This is our turtle friend who found its way into the pool. We released him back into the woods behind the house.

Here is why the old pump motor stopped working, the bottom 1/3 of the pump was sitting in mud/water all spring. I cleaned it out and replaced the capacitor but it was still grinding and overheating then shutting off so I just decided to replace the whole thing.

Only picture I can find right now with the tiki bar in the background next to the pool
