If I were to test and log these totally made up results then TFP method would be happy all the day?
No need to raise TA or work on getting pH down because CSI is bomb diggity?
 
TA is fine.

pH would be better at 7.6-7.8.
 
Something is not right. You have an SWG and your Salt is 800?
I Get a CSI of .090
I agree with Allen, 7.6 to 7.8 would be better....with a TA of 60, it may be that your pH is stable 7.8-8.0
I also wouldn't try to run my pool at minimums...always follow this...and maintain within target range. Min is lava. Link-->FC/CYA Levels
 
The CSI is +0.3, which is a little bit high.

I would drop the pH to 7.8 to get the CSI to 0.0.

The pH at 8.1 is fine as long as you can accurately measure it and the CSI is below about +0.1.

I would want my CSI to be closer to 0.0 and my FC @ 4ppm for a CyA of 40ppm. If those were my numbers I would bring the pH down a little.

Every pool will be a bit different. When balancing I like to keep my CSI as close as practical to 0.0. But in most cases slightly negative is preferred to slightly positive. I start with those things I can’t easily change, calcium, salt, CyA, and borate if it’s used. From there the easiest parameter to manipulate is the pH, and manipulating the pH will alter the TA but it is being replenished by the tap water in most cases. Eventually it settles on a slowly shifting balance but is never truly at equilibrium.

26.6C (80F) is too cold for me but again every pool is a bit different. I look at what minor changes in the temperature will do to the CSI through summer and then what happens when the temperature drops significantly though winter. I let my pH and alkalinity run a little higher and my CyA a little lower over winter which helps to offset the effects of cold water.

in my example I did enter the numbers given and listed the POOL MATH resulting CSI of 0.290, you got 0.090?
I get a CSI of 0.29 too. But change the pH to 7.8 and you’ll get a CSI of 0.0.

For 20 years I lived in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 10 miles or so east of you, until Dec 2019 when we moved to Las Vegas. Back then in January, my pool water was never in the 80° realm. Maybe upper 60°.

I know you meantioned made up numbers. But what are your real results? Your Pool Math results didn’t load for me.

I have 160 accounts and am seriously considering applying TFP methods. The point of my numbers was just theoretical.
I'm pretty sure I can do it effectively with meters spec'd with +/- 10% accuracy.
Lucky to get that with employee pool side drop tests :)
