My TA is 50 and my Ph is 8. Obviously lowering my Ph will also lower my TA further which I don’t believe I want to do. At one point I though I read a chart or article on here that showed how much baking soda: dry acid to use to counteract the drop in TA cause by the dry acid??

You are right in that you don't want to go below 50 TA and when you add muriatic acid to lower the pH, the TA is going to lower. You can use the pool math app to figure out how much muriatic acid and baking soda to increase the TA. old webpage: PoolMath Or there is a pool math app in the android and iOS store.
