Pool math app say to lower PH with acid then aerate. Question on this is, what is the time frame between adding the acid and the aerating. My TA is at 120 and the PH is 7.4. I have a waterfall and only running it about an hour or so to not have algae buildup in the reservoir.

No need to force the TA lower. Test pH every few days and lower it to 7.2 when it reaches 7.6 or higher. Once TA gets to under 80, do not adjust pH until it reaches 8.
