switching to a Salt Water Pool and had a question regarding the Circupool RJ-60+

Hello,

I have been beating myself up trying to find a good priced SWG and came across the Circupool RJ-60+. Seems like a good price for $1,399.00 from Discount Salt Pool.com
My main concern is this: My pool is roughly 18-20k gallons, and this SWG is rated at 60k. I know a lot of talk about oversizing the SWG is a good thing, but is over sizing it x3 still a good thing? In other words, is it bad to go WAY over in size? Discount salt pool offered to upgrade from the RJ-45 to the RJ-60 for only $10 more, and I figured, why not?

I purchased a Hayward AquaRite R15 (for 40k gal) and felt I paid way too much (total price was $2k from Amazon) and I feel like I can get a much better value with Circupool.

Any ideas, comments, reviews, suggestions, anything? I really need to make the switch ASAP and plan to return the over priced Hayward to Amazon today...

Thank You very much!

I would have gone 3X in NY for the better ROI. In Miami, it's almost a requirement with your long hot seasons. Hours deplete lifespan and needing to run it 3X less, triples the life.

The only hangup with circupool is if you have automation you'll have to manually adjust it. It's particularly an inconvenience with a spa. Normal pool operation only needs an adjustment every couple of weeks, but some use the spa twice a day.

Thanks. No spa, just the pool. We have a screened in enclosure, so that helps a little bit. So I am guessing that the RJ-60 will be no problem then?

None whatsoever.

Circupool uses DSP as their sales division, which conveniently lists their own models with 50% more output for 50% longer. (looking like an independent retailer, of course)

If we super conservatively use other 60k units output and lifespan, it will create 1000 jugs worth of 10% chlorine in 20k gallons. The lugging is bad enough, but if you were purchasing Walmart 10%, it would cost $6067 out the door. (7% Miami-Dade sales tax). The sales tax on the bleach alone is $299 more than it is on the the cell.

If it does better than the other 60k cells, woo-freaking-hoo. With their claims it'd be 1500 jugs worth.
