SWG VS Chlorine Feeder

I recently got a 21' above ground which came with an intex cs8110 SWG. I have zero experience with salt and I've always had a chlorine feeder which worked well for me. Should I just sell this thing? I don't even know if it's any good. Then just buy a chlorine feeder? Is the salt water really worth the effort? Honestly I don't know anyone who swears by it, most people I know still use chlorine.

Thanks for your opinion!

Matt, a lot depends on your environment and pool conditions. Those who use SWGs love them for the convenience of not having to add bleach/chlorine each day. As we know, consistent use of chlorine tabs/pucks increases CYA quickly, however "some" locations get away with using them due to their short pool season and/or high water exchange rate. So it's really a personal choice. I suspect you'll get tons of replies to your question, but in the end if it's not big deal to pour a few cups of bleach in the pool each evening, that works just as well as anything. If you find yourself away from home for extended periods of time and need the convenience of auto-chlorination, the SWG might be right for you. Tabs/pucks, again …. okay for a while, but you must watch the CYA level. If it gets too high, you'll have to exchange water.
