update - I ended up buying a new one from Amazon. I wanted to buy from Inyo Pools but I just couldnt pay the $80 more they were charging ... And we order SO much from Amazon we get good support when we need it ...

In testing the SWG the new one is now doubling the ppm as it comes out of the fishes mouth
even though it risked the warranty I did the install myself
Its just plugging in 2 wires and unscrewing 3 connectors, replace the orings and done

Uhg, pool equipment and their warranties!! I could swear I read that Pentair allows user replacement of an SWG, while maintaining warranty. The manual instructs users in the act of cleaning a cell, which is basically uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. The wiring is just a simple plug. So that seems feasible. Perhaps Aquapure has a similar policy?
