Hi,
I have a Hayward Aquarite with a tcell925. I feel like my fc is dropping too quickly with CYA of 50 and SWG set to 70% for 8 hours.

This is the diagnostics on the panel:
3000, 87, 31.7, 0, 48p, 0, al0, r 1.59, e 9

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thank you

This is the basic information we need to know in diagnosing a problem:
  • Report all diagnostic readings when you..
    • Move the switch from auto to off and check all of the readings.
    • Move the switch back to auto and recheck the readings.
    • Move the switch to off for a minute and then back to auto and recheck the readings.
  • What are the first seven characters of the cell and box serial numbers?
  • What is the actual salinity and how are you measuring it?

Here are the results:

Off:

  • 2900
  • 88
  • 31.6
  • 0
  • 54p
  • 0
  • Al 0
  • R 1.59
  • E-9

Auto

  • 2900
  • 88
  • 26.6
  • 4.78
  • 54p
  • -3100
  • Al0
  • R1.59
  • E9

Off 1 to auto

  • 2900
  • 88
  • 27
  • 4.73
  • 53p
  • -3000
  • Al0
  • R1.59
  • E9

My overnight test seems to be pretty stable. I’m starting to think I lose it during the day. Maybe CYA is too low?

I wonder if I should do a quick SLAM before adding CYA just in case

To get the performance of the cell, divide the instant salinity by the actual salinity.

If the ratio is less than 75%, it's time for a new cell. For example, 2,000 (instant salinity) ÷ 3,600 (measured salinity with a test kit)=56%. Check the cell and clean it if necessary. If that doesn't work, it's time for a new cell.

3,000/3,900 = 77%.

The performance is at about 77% which is close to failing if the actual salinity is correct.

Check for scale and clean if necessary.

Have the cell tested at a store that tests cells and file a warranty claim if the cell fails.
