Before buying a SWG I always found the chlorine test on the OTO to be utterly useless. Now with an SWG I found it to be really useful. What a surprise.
Back when I was using LC I was running my pool hot (never believe the target). When your low FC threshold is 6 and your target is 9 the OTO results are meaningless.
Now with a SWG I’m my personal target is 6 (since I only run my single speed crappy pump 12h a day) I find that testing with OTO every other day is enough to keep my FC in check. I still test with FAS/DPD every week (well at least last couple weeks).
On an unrelated side question. I noticed more chlorine smell (light smell, not CC smell) since I switch from LC to SWG. I believe it to a small portion of the chlorine gas escaping the water before becoming hypochlorous acid. Anyone else noticed something like that?
