Suntouch 520782 Remote Replacement

Hi everyone Newbie here. Trying to help my BIL get a replacement remote control for his Suntouch system. We’ve been unable to find a new replacement. Can his Suntouch system be connected to his iPhone via WiFi and the Pentair app? Can one of the newer Pentair remotes be connected to his Suntouch system?

Welcome to TFP.

The SunTouch is obsolete. Pentair parts catalog shows limited replacement parts for it.

521245 Quicktouch II Remote Replacement is not listed and seems to no longer available.

No other remote is compatible with it.

What is wrong with the remote? @ogdento has repaired some of this stuff.

Thanks for your reply AJW22! The remote is old, beat up, and it’s operating range is very short. I’ll talk to my BIL this morning and get a bit more detail.

there's nothing commercially available that will let you control it with your phone.

I've seen used Quicktouch systems on the auction site but I don't see any at the moment. There are online pool vendors that sell replacement transceivers (the card that is mounted outdoors) for around $100 - usually the transceiver card goes before the handheld transmitter, but you said the transmitter is kindof beat up so that might not be what you need.

Thanks for your reply OGDENTO. I just found out that the batteries in the remote haven’t been changed in a LONG time, so I’ll be trying that sometime today.
