Hi all,
Sundance Spa 850 series is showing multiple errors codes and I'm not sure how to proceed. When attempting to power it up for the first time this season, I noticed the dreaded "watchdog" code on the display. I power cycled a couple of times with the same result, but I wasn't at the screen so that's all I caught. On the 3rd cycle, it instead displayed an alternating FLO2 / COOL message on the screen; I cycled a few more times to the same FLO2/COOL result. I know that FLO2 indicates a closed (or faulty) flow sensor, so I took the panels apart to inspect and the flow sensor was indeed open. I inspected the wiring and the sensor itself and didn't see any obvious issues.
Upon powering it back up, I did so in a manner that I was able to view the screen and it came on displaying a temp of 93, which began to drop, 91, 87, 84, etc. to about 64, alternating the COOL message in between. This makes sense, as the water is cold. It then made a click, as though it were going to begin operating, and that's when the watchdog/"----" returns. It's doing this through a few power cycles, as it did originally.
I can't imagine it's actually the flow sensor, given the inconsistent behavior. I also know that the most common watchdog event is a faulty temp sensor recording a dangerously high temp. I'm skeptical as it showed a temp of 93 and dropped consistently for a few power cycles, though I don't know why it didn't just record the temp at the start, so maybe it is faulty? Otherwise I'm fearing it may be the actual circuit board, but given that's not at all a cheap part, I wanted to see if anyone has any insights into what this may be.
Thank you in advance!
