Summerwaves Pool- Rust

I am getting prepared to open up my Polygroup Summerwaves 20x48 pool, and am noticing some rust spots where the frame connects.

Any advice on how to either fix it or prevent it from getting worse?

(P.S using the cover that came with the pool was an epic fail)

That joint moves all the time while you are splashing around in the pool. I had a AGP similar to this for years and every spring I would lightly brush the rust and hit it with a spray paint that is close to the same color. That is about the only thing you can do to fix it...I don't see any way to prevent it from happening with this pool frame design.
