Suggestion: local help-each-other groups

Seeing numbers of "I'm going away for 2 weeks, what do I do?" type posts makes me wonder if we could form local help-each-other groups or "chapters".

Many of us are clustered, especially in AZ, CA, & TX. If someone within, say, 5 miles of me needed pool care for a week or 2, I could do that for a small but reasonable fee. 10 miles and 4 weeks sounds like maybe too much, but with a local chapter, members could share the load.

Has this been proposed before?

The pool guy I currently have is just a guy who happens to have had a pool growing up and now helps people out.

The “chapter” idea would go over great in small towns like mine with no pool service business. But then are there enough pool owners there?

Superb idea! I’ve had to hire a server for elongated trips when I really only needed them to empty skimmer baskets and make sure there wasn’t a catastrophe, like a pump failure. Would love to have a trusted TFPer to be able to lean on. And would gladly do the same for other TFPers.

I’ll be the first to join in the northern DFW area if this gets legs.
