Stonescapes custom blend color selection help

We are going with stonescapes mini pebble and like the darker colors.

our PB has midnight blue and we think that is a shade to dark. However we believe Tahoe and tropics blue is a shade to light.

we want to customize either tropics blue or Tahoe blue to be slightly darker to get us a color that is in the middle between midnight and tropics/Tahoe.

our pool builder recommends Tahoe blue and removing the gold pebbles and has black pebbles instead and that should get us the color we want.

i am afraid with Tahoe blue the pool will look grey as I have read that on this forum. Plus my coping is grey.

but my PB swears up and down that Tahoe blue doesn't have any tent of grey.

we definitely do not want any tent of green either.

whats everyone thoughts? Just blindly trust my builder and go with his thoughts? (Even though if read otherwise on this forum)

I am also going to have glass beads thrown in to so maybe there is a certain selection of beads that will help to darker it as well. Is there anything called midnight blue glass beads?

anyone in a similar situation?

Hi - I don't know if this will help much since I am not familiar with the Stonescapes colors, but I just recently had my pool done with Wet Edge Satin Matrix, a pebble finish with no glass beads. I used their color called Northshore Tahoe, but I had a custom color done were some of the gold pebbles were removed and replaced with black. I think it helped make my pool darker than the usual Northshore Tahoe (my builder had that color in his pool and I think my color is darker than his).

thank you for the feedback. is stonescapes Tahoe the same as wet edge? do you see any grey?

I know I have read on this forum Tahoe might have some grey but my PB says no.

Man nothing seems harder than trying to get the pool finish you want! The samples are almost useless because everything looks so different under several feet of water! We went round and round on ours. We wanted a dark deep blue which was what we thought we picked but after looking up the finish on the manufactures website it looked much lighter. Our PB swore it was a dark blue and did provide several pictures of pools they have done with the same color. I am assuming it is a little tougher with custom color but if your PB seems pretty sure about how it will come out. Is that from experience using the same custom finish on another build? Can he show you pictures? I am not sure if this is possible or not but can the manufacture make you a small sample?

I did a tropics blue customer color that is a shade or 2 darker than normal tropics blue and has no green. I also added a lot of glass beads as well as shells. My plasterer added a extra bag of black plaster to each batch which made it darker and I went with a blue blend bead (see pic below). I didn't want any green and wanted it darker blue but not midnight, so no green or gold beads on mine.
Tahoe blue has a green hue at different times of the day but is still very pretty. Also your surroundings and landscaping plays a lot on the color. Pics of my pool below, and feel free to ask any specific questions you have and I'll try to help

I have looked at the npt website and I cannot find were they have listed all the different color of glass beads that I can add to my pool (like you have in the picture with the glass beads spread out so you can see the colors)

for instance you chose blue blend that has dark blue, teal, and looks like white.

what if I just wanted the dark blue to help darken the pool up? my builder mentioned a midnight blue glass bead.

I cant find out were each individual bead color is located on the website I just see the jewelscapes blends and I am wanting to see each individual bead color to select maybe only two colors I want vs. a "blue blend"

Luckyc1423 - Wet Edge Northshore Tahoe is not the same as Stonescapes Tahoe since they are different companies, but looking at the Stonescapes online, the color looks very similar to me. I am not sure what you mean by grey - do you mean the plaster or the water? My water color is a deep aquamarine. If you want no green in the water, it would probably not be for you.

sunngurrl - I am no expert so someone with more knowledge may correct me, but it is my understanding that gold toned surfaces tend to produce a green tint in the water.

What is the name of the accent tiles you used on the steps?

I know this is really old, don’t know if you will see it but if you do will you post a photo of your customized color to your pool? Thank you!

The Stonescapes Tahoe blue and Tropics blue both have strong grey tones, to me. The frustration I have with Stonescapes is you can't get a medium blue/royal blue color without having alot of grey in it. I am looking to do a custom color to try to reach the pool/water color I am after.

Hi. Can you please update the status of your pool build and what you did decide for an interior pool finish? I am also interested in a rich dark blue without green or grey if possible. I am looking for members to share custom recipes of rich dark blue mini pebble (preferably NPT Stonescapes) and ideally add beautiful pictures of final outcome to assist us in process of making these interior finish decisions. Look forward to connecting. Ellen M
