For those of you in AR/TX/OK in this freeze there is hope!
I'm in NW Arkansas. Air Temps in single digits to zero past few days. WInd Chills negative double digits. 4" of snow on ground.
My Pool surface is about 80-90% covered by ice - except where my returns are hitting the surfaces. So far I am surviving, pump equipment tarped and space heater running nearly 24/7 at the pad (keeps the temp there around 40). Pump is running about 2700 rpm (45 gpm) with a water temp at 33. Every hour or two i dump a bucket of hot water in the skimmer to make sure no ice accum in there. I placed some RV anti-freeze in a plastic bottle half way and dropped in each of my skimmers to reduce any ice accum also. I rigged a hose to one of my indoor faucets (used a 3/4" to 1/2" adapter) to run hot water to the pool about once a day for an hour. I have a plaster pool so I am breaking up the ice where I can. It's stressful and I'm hopeful I will get through this too!
