does leaving pool cover on cause chlorine loss?
I usually have cover on full time but during slam I have left off, I will put it on today to let slam water do its thing
last night FC 22.5 this morning FC 21....much better , that was 10ml testing
pouring rain here no sun so I will just wait it out till it drops back to 16, will do another CYA at that level and OCLT .....
ok I figured that was the case, i started reading that info on cya, that's way above my pay grade kinda glazed over when reading, I think I see high FC can cause cya loss and warm pool , mine is constant around 29 c heat pump on 4 hours every day, and my FC did hit 40 so CYA got a beating, avoid during the day by having the cover on.
yep pool gear getting fitted next week its starting...step father's pool
hi Gurus....big thanks for all the help and advice i think got it from here, appreciate all the time you guys put in here, my plan is to let it ride down to 16, do the OCLT if passes then let it go down to say FC7, then turn on SWG, do CYA test and aim for around 70 - 80 max, do other all tests to get it balanced and work on tweaking SWG to hold around FC7 using FC 5 as minimum
i will check back in and let you all know how its goes.....when i think i got it tuned in.....thanks again
ps of course stepfathers pool work starts next week so yep ill be asking questions on that for sure...
Then you haven't gone too long. One day you will push said unknown limit and it will be unmistaken. Its been 5 years since I gave up my cover and I can still smell that smell. A musty funky stale chlorine. Mine was around a week and a half +/- depending on UV strength and weather. It burns off in less than a minute and is pretty harmless.some say when u leave on for too long when removing you can smell the vapours of chemicals escaping, i have never noticed that,
pool gets full sun but the last spot to get sun is the green patch area, see pic, the red dot is where it first was just a patch, few days later it started growing see yellowalgae patch at the sunny or the shady side of the pool?
No news is good news? How's everything going?
i will see how it goes over the next few days, i could use a external timer to cut it down by 30 minutes, like say 4.5 hours at 100%, but rather not bother with external timers, i guess its going to be trial and error for awhile, 6 hours at 75% or 4 hours at 100%, if that dont work then i guess i might try external timer at 4.5 hours 100%.....may have to go to 6 hours at 75%
wow hope i can get there with FC, i am so over this testing and tweaking, got to get a robotic too that's another pain brushing and vacumming...,maybe monthly,
yep i can program days different, that's a idea i did not think of, but i will see how it goes, and if needed try the 4 hours at 100% or 6 hours 75% , although 6 hours is more pump time than i preferred in regards to wear on power costs, rather run less time , but overall its no big dealCan you program each day differently,
