After many years of pool ownership and battling rising CYA due to the trichlor pucks, I am starting off this season using liquid chlorine based on all I have read on TFP. I have my TF Pro test kit so I can manage the numbers myself. A few questions:
19,000 gallon pool is vinyl so I know I need to take some care - is it worthwhile to dilute my 12.5% liquid chlorine in a bucket before slowly pouring it in? Any other tips for adding to a vinyl pool?
Should I expect to have to add some liquid chlorine daily?
Besides routine use, the Liquid Chlorine label says to also put in 50-100 ounces/10k gallons weekly to super-chlorinate. Really? If no algae or other problem do I need weekly shocking? Same question for algaecide - can I stop that as long as no problems and I maintain free chlorine?
I read that liquid chlorine raises pH, but I do not see that on "Effects of Adding" on the Pool Math app. Does that mean the pH impact is negligible?
Many thanks in advance!
