I have just taken over the care of my pool; and I have your test kit. But I am struggling with the CYA test: should the black dot disappear, or just go cloudy? I have tried it twice and each time the tube gets filled before the dot disappears. My FC level is 2 and my CC 1.5. What should i do? Should I put in CYA? How much? My pool is 23,000 gallons.

Sounds like you have less than 30 ppm CYA in the water. Add 10 ppm worth of CYA using the sock method. Test again in a few days. Use PoolMath for amounts. Post how much you plan to add here so we can check your numbers.
The CC is very high. What does your water look like?

Water has become somewhat cloudy and a bit green. I have put in 32 oz of CYA, which seems to be what pool math recommended - well a bit less, actually.

You likely need chlorine, ASAP.
