Hi, I reviewed the recommendations on utility pumps, however I came across

The question I have is the recommend ones have a plastic suction cover like this

Which is removable on the 1/2 hp.

It appears the 1 hp doesn’t come with a plastic suction cover, would this pose a problem with it sitting in a pool, rust, stains, etc?

I wonder if I should look into the others.

Before others chime in for a cheaper utility pump, I am getting this at a good price that’s why I’m inquiring.

Stainless steel can rust and stain the pool sitting on the plaster.

Plastic pumps are recommended.

All plastic.

Rust can bleed onto the suction cover.

Interesting that they advertise it for pool/salt pool specifically if it would rust and cause stains.
Marketing. They don’t care. The warranty will expire by the time it rusts.
