Can anyone tell me the difference?

The natural chemistry is an extra $16 per bottle, but I see it has the equivalent of 30% CYA as opposed to 24.92%. Is the 5.08% worth the cost?

I am aware that granular stabilizer is cheaper, and someday I might switch but for now I’m new to ownership, and opting for simplicity and ease.

Thanks!!

The Natural Chemistry one is the neutralized sodium salt of cyanuric acid. The other stuff is just CYA and solvent (I think they use a mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol … but I haven’t looked carefully).

Generally speaking, the sodium salt version will dissolve faster into solution while the other stuff tends to form a big gooey slug in the bottom of the bottle. They will both raise your CYA by about the same amount. So choose whichever one you want based on cost and ease of use.

I mostly noted there was 5% less CYA. I wasn’t sure if that was significant or not and if the extra 5% was worth $16 🤷‍♂️
Just be careful with using less than a full bottle. More than one person has added part of the bottle not realizing that some had settled at the bottom and was still there. Then when they didn’t reach their target, they added the rest of the bottle and overshot the target and had to drain off water to get rid of it. That’s the basis of why TFP recommends the dry product, along with it being cheaper.
