So I spot cleaned some dried drips of something clear off new fiberglass pool with a scotchbrite pad. Didnt use a lot of pressure , but it got some of it off. Now where I treated its dull. Hopefully didn’t mess up the gel coat.

Any ideas on what to try to get it to sparkle again? Rubbing coumpound / paste?

help :)

scotchbrite is sometimes used to provide a dull finish on metal.
It's due to the scratches. You may be able to polish it fine enough to get a shine again depending on the finish that is left.
You could try 800 then 1600 grit wet paper.

Scotchbrite ratings.

Boat hull cleaner/polish. It has a micro-abrasive to lessen the scratches you put in the finish and the other compounds in it will fill the scratches and bring back most of the shine.

Scotch bright pads are way to aggressive for a fiberglass finish.
