Spa not working after hours

We have an Aqua logic ps4 and everything seems to work properly during the normal daily run times. When I select spa the spillover stops and the spa heats.

The issue I am having is when I select spa after the normal run time, let’s say 9 pm the pool does not go into spa mode. The spa indicator light comes on, there is a delay for the valves to move, and the heater comes on but spillover continues to flow over which is wrong.

I have never tried to use the spa late in the day so I am not sure if it is not doing what I want because it is outside the normal run-time parameter or if one of the configurations/settings is wrong.

Welcome to TFP.
When you put it in Spa Mode - do you watch the valves, the intake 3-way valve and the return 3-way valve, that they rotate 180 degrees? That rotation moves from Pool Mode to Spa Mode and visa versa.
Regardless of time of day, the values should move when a dfferent mode is selected.
Maybe show a picture of your equipment pad with the valves in Spa Mode and another picture with valves in Pool Mode.
Something else must be moving (or not moving) when changing modes when the pump is initially off (after normal run time).
Do you have your spa constantly spillover to the pool?

I appreciate the reply and it looks like I solved the problem. Yesterday and this morning it was a little too dark to see what was happening with the valves. It turns out the return valve was working fine switching between pool and spa. The suction valve was only on pool and would not swing over to spa. After some closer inspection, I realized the three-way switch was in the middle-off position (not sure why). Moving the switch to one of the other positions corrected the problem.
